Heavy Weather – 19/06/2019
June 19 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Delivered by Aileen La Tourette
Weather is something we use – everyone does – to talk about moods and shifts in inner temperatures, as well as outer ones.
What are the ‘climate changes’ we notice on the inside, and how do we cause them, prevent them, and deal with them?
How destructive are we towards our own inner environment, and how could the way we treat the planet be a reflection of self-hatred, self-criticism, self-destructiveness? Can we look to poets who address these questions and find something there to suggest a way of meeting our own areas of low pressure and high pressure without triggering tsunamis and hurricanes – inside or outside?
We will read poems together and write our own poems, or ‘weather reports’.
