- Notes: A one day workshop presented by Sara Hatta. Life is full of ups and downs. We all share experience of losses, bereavements, stresses in or out of work, relationships that are difficult. And everyone has periods when they know that things could be better but are not sure what to do. This can become quite distressing. People who experience these emotional distresses, sometimes labelled psychiatric symptoms, are often keen to find safe, effective things that they can do for themselves to improve their wellbeing and quality of life. One way that people find useful is a Wellness Recovery Action Plan. WRAP can help you keep yourself well, teaches you how to identify and monitor the signs and symptoms you experience and encourages you in the use of personal skills, supports and strategies to reduce or eliminate the distress. WRAPs don’t make a distinction between people. They are useful whatever your experiences are – for those who need a boost and equally for those whose experiences are intense. WRAP is a useful and positive approach to wellbeing for everyone. This is an opportunity to develop your own Wellness Recovery Action Plan, so it is a practical workshop, not all teaching, more of having a go and seeing if it works for you. WRAPs don’t make a distinction between experts by experience (service users), carers, and paid staff. WRAP is a useful and positive approach to wellness for everyone. You will need to bring a Ring Binder and set of File Dividers to make your WRAP.
